Webinar Info: Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grants (INFRA/Mega/Rural)

Published by Gary See on

On March 23, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced $2.9 billion of funding now available for major infrastructure projects through a combined Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) under President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). This NOFO includes the INFRA program and two new programs – MEGA and the Rural Surface Transportation Grant Program (RURAL). Combining three major discretionary grant programs into one “Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grant” (MPDG) opportunity reduces the burden for state and local applicants and increases the pipeline of “shovel-worthy” projects. Applications must be submitted by 8:59 p.m. PST on May 23, 2022.

Along with the previously announced NOFO for the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program (applications due April 14), these programs are opportunities to advance equity, connect communities, and expand transportation options in rural America and other underserved communities.

Informational webinars for the new MPDG opportunity kick off on March 29 at 10:00am PST, including a webinar on April 4 at 10:00am PST (register) focused on preparing benefit-cost analyses. For a full list of webinars, registration information, and recordings, you can visit the MPDG webpage. You can also find recordings of informational webinars for RAISE on the RAISE webpage.

Thank you.
